Deputy Manager / Team Leader

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the residential care team to ensure high standards of care and support.
  • Oversee and coordinate daily operations within the residential setting.
  • Develop and implement person-centered care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and that all concerns are addressed appropriately.
  • Monitor and assess residents’ physical and emotional well-being, intervening when necessary.
  • Conduct staff training, appraisals, and performance reviews to maintain a high standard of service.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and care standards.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive living environment for all residents.
  • Liaise with external professionals, families, and stakeholders to support the needs of residents.
  • Organize and facilitate social and community engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential or semi-independent setting.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a care setting.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle complex situations.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies, regulatory frameworks, and best practices.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
  • Up-to-date first aid and safeguarding training (or willingness to undergo training).
  • A valid driver’s license (preferred but not essential).
